Never run out of Martial Arts films to watch,It’s pretty annoying when you go to sit down and watch a good fight flick and you have no idea what to watch.

I have something quick and easy for you today, you’ve obviously found this website because you’re interested in finding & watching more martial arts movies, I know!

Well it’s actually pretty easy to find good movies to watch if you have the know how, all it takes is to know what you like and link up the names involved and do a little research.

It’s simple:

  1. Find actors whose movies you enjoy
  2. Find their best films
  3. Create a list of movies to watch
  4. uh, watch them…

This was how I started with Martial Arts films and I went down a crazy rabbit hole (yeah, I started this website!).

Please note: we have a Premium Martial Arts Movie Guide you can download which has over 450 films organised by actors and subgenre which will make this a lot easier 🙂 It’s helps fund this website!

So, let’s look into it….

First, you need something to start your list on.

Download our printable list sheetIt can be just a piece of paper, a notebook, or a document on your phone. For convenience, I created a printable PDF you can use here (it’s free, instant download).

Once you’re ready with pen in hand, you can start researching and creating your list of movies!

You’ll find streaming services like Netflix usually have a list feature  you can use also.

Find Actors or Genre whose films you enjoy.

You’ve had a taste of martial arts films, pick your favorites, head to imdb and search for those films, find out who played the lead of that film – there’s one way to find actors you like.

If you don’t have much experience to draw on, I recommend checking out our list of top martial arts actors and then looking them up on YouTube.  You’ll find tribute videos and fight scenes you can sample their work with to see if you enjoy their style of action and on screen charisma.

Once you have a few names down, it’s time to move on.

Research their top movies.

First of all, we have a few Top Movie lists in our sidebar (to the right of or just below this post, depending on what device you’re using), so that’s a great place to start.

Otherwise you can search Google, here’s an example “Top Donnie Yen movies” will get you Donnie Yen’s top movies, or “top Wing Chun films” to see films using WIng Chun.  Add these to your list so you can watch them later.

Pretty easy.

Start Watching, then repeat the process.

I said it’d be quick and easy!

As you watch films you’ll come across supporting actors you may want to research and it will flow on wards from there. You can also find relevant Facebook pages and groups to follow who talk about martial arts films and get your information on top actors and films that way.

There’s always going to be movies and people you haven’t heard of though, I recommend starting with the 25 films in my Free Ebook (you can download by subscribing below, if you haven’t already). Or once again, checkout our Premium Martial Arts Movie Guide.

It’s pretty easy and we’re here to make it easier!
